Eastern Illinois University is leading a Broadband READY team to support Digital Literacy and Improved Broadband Access across the 13 County Southeast Region.


EIU is working with the Illinois Broadband Lab to implement the .

The Illinois Broadband READY program (Regional Engagement for Adoption + Digital Equity) aims to address digital literacy skills, workforce development, and improve broadband. It is a collaboration between the Universities and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's Office of Broadband and the Illinois Innovation Network. The priority is areas of digital inequity to eliminate the digital divide.

EIU supports Coles, Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Marion, Moultrie, Lawrence, and Richland Counties.
