Eastern Illinois University, in partnership with the Illinois Innovation Network, is pleased to announce a funding opportunity for middle school teachers interested in developing and implementing a year-long lesson plan focused on local agriculture and agriculture-related technology. This initiative aims to enhance Âé¶¹´«Ã½’ understanding of local agricultural practices and technologies, and their impact on the community through experiential learning opportunities.

Applications are due on May 29, 2025, and the first round of funding will be dispersed in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Proposal Requirements:

  • A lesson plan that spans the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Incorporation of experiential learning, such as field trips to local farms, agribusinesses, or research centers.
  • Incorporate an element of technology as it relates to agriculture.
  • A budget proposal outlining anticipated expenses.
  • A plan for data collection to assess student engagement, learning outcomes, and a list of activities.
