Subject: Cost Containment Update
Dear Colleagues,
Beginning in the summer of 2009, the Council on University Planning & Budget (CUPB) began receiving cost savings ideas from faculty, staff, and Â鶹´«Ã½ at Eastern. Suggestions were solicited from the campus community, reviewed by the appropriate vice president, and then implemented if feasible and approved. I have posted a letter on the CUPB website outlining the results of cost containment efforts. The letter can be found on the CUPB website at http://www.eiu.edu/~eiucupb/.
Cost containment efforts at the university will be ongoing. I thank CUPB and the campus community for diligently addressing cost issues. I appreciate your commitment and look forward to our identifying more cost savings measures.
