The Eastern Illinois University Concert Band consists of 50-60 players of varying ability levels. Concert Band is an NON-Auditioned ensemble and usually comprises approximately 3/4 music majors and 1/4 non-music majors who simply love to play their instruments and are willing to commit to 30 minutes of individual practice time per week. The Concert Band is designed to foster a collaborative environment and high quality musical experiences for all members who audition and are accepted into the ensemble. The group performs traditional standard and contemporary band repertoire in 2-3 concerts per semester in the Dvorak Concert Hall on campus.
Auditions are NOT required to be in Concert Band, but playing experience in high school is required. To join the band, simply sign up for the class (MUS 0201R).
Please contact Dr. Alicia Neal with any questions you may have.
