Original Release from April 21, 2025:
(Charleston, IL) – Eastern Illinois University will host its 2025 Giving Day Tuesday, April 22. The campaign encourages alumni, faculty, staff, Â鶹´«Ã½ and friends of EIU to consider supporting current and future Panthers through financial donations that can help offset current or future educational costs.
Over the past two decades, Giving Days have become popular events for non-profit organizations—including higher education institutions—to seek philanthropic support from their network of advocates to aid in achieving their principal missions.
For EIU, that mission includes offering superior, accessible education intended to help its Â鶹´«Ã½ become responsible citizens and leaders. EIU has served the East Central Illinois region for 130 years since its founding in 1895. In that time, the Charleston, Illinois-based University has provided opportunities for generations of Â鶹´«Ã½ in Illinois, across the Midwest and beyond to earn degrees, enhance their lives, achieve lucrative careers, and contribute to the communities in which they live, work, and play.
“We are so appreciative of all members of our Panther family, be they alumni, parents, faculty, staff or community members, who help to directly support our Â鶹´«Ã½ on EIU Giving Day,” said Vice President for University Advancement Mindy Spencer. “Donors are making a direct and immediate impact on the institution, and they are helping to provide critical support for student wellness, classroom technologies, first-generation Â鶹´«Ã½, our colleges, and so much more. Giving Day truly shines a light on how the entire community is squarely student focused, and we are eternally grateful for how our Panthers show up and give back every year.”
